The 25th Anniversary cocktail party at Bitton
Organising a cocktail party for a restaurant’s 25th birthday is no small task — especially when that restaurant is Bitton, a much-loved Sydney institution known for its French charm, warm service, and culinary flair. So when I was asked to help bring this celebration to life, I knew it had to be something truly special. And honestly? It turned out to be magic.
A Milestone Worth Celebrating
Twenty-five years ago, Chef David Bitton opened his first café in Alexandria with a simple dream: to share good food and warm hospitality. Fast forward to today, and Bitton has grown into a brand with two vibrant locations, a gourmet product range, and a devoted community.
This cocktail party wasn’t just a celebration — it was a love letter to Bitton’s journey, the people who made it possible, and the flavour of French-Australian connection.
Behind the Scenes – My Role
From concept to clink of glasses, I had the joy of overseeing the creative direction and event coordination. Think:
– Moodboards and creative vision
– Styling the space to feel festive, elegant, and “very Bitton”
– Designing signage, menus and branded elements
– Helping manage flow, lighting, music, and the perfect party pace
– Coordinating with our wonderful suppliers and partners
– And most importantly… making sure everything felt warm, authentic, and full of soul
The Vibe
The event was held at our flagship location in Alexandria, transformed for one night into an intimate, French-inspired soirée.
Guests sipped on signature cocktails, nibbled on canapés crafted by the chef himself, and toasted under soft lighting to 25 years of passion, flavour, and community. The room was filled with long-time customers, friends of the brand, partners like Perrier, Maison Perrier, Grinders, Pepe Saya and, of course, the whole Bitton team.
There were speeches, laughter, clinking glasses, and even a few happy tears — the kind of night that feels both nostalgic and full of possibility.
Why It Mattered
Bitton isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a part of people’s lives. Organising this event felt like honouring not just a brand, but a whole community — of food lovers, French expats, Sydney locals, and loyal guests who’ve supported Bitton since day one.
Being trusted to help celebrate such a big milestone was an honour. And witnessing the joy, the connection, and the legacy unfold in one beautiful evening? Absolutely unforgettable.
Here’s to Bitton — 25 years of heart, flavour, and French-Australian magic. And to the next 25.
